Over the past few months we have been working with IVE and 5 other partners putting on events for young people all based on heritage.
This work was a pilot to test if our ideas and activities inspired young people into thinking about heritage in a different way and I'm pleased to say that HLF (Heritage Lottery Fund) have liked what they have seen. So much so that we now have funding for four years to continue the work.
Along with the other five partners
The Sobriety Project & Yorkshire Waterway Museum
Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust
The National Coal Mining Museum
we will be using the skills of The Writing Squad and The Heritage Craft Alliance to put on activities, workshops and events all of which young people can get involved in. We will also be putting together a group of young people who will help us shape future events and begin to lead the project in the direction they feel it should go. We can't wait to get started!!!
