Using the Carlton Lodge site the orienteering course is designed to give that first experience of orienteering. Once the basics have been mastered more challenging targets can be sought. Its a great way to explore the Carlton Lodge site!
Using a permanent orienteering course set up in a local forest, a wide variety of routes make for seemingly endless exploration. Map reading skills and quick and accurate choice of route are essential for success in this activity that is accessible to all. The activity is off site - distance from centre 12 miles, travel time 20 minutes. Sessions can be tailored to cover elements of the National Curriculum for PE, Geography and PSHE at key stages 2-4.
